PIERCING AFTERCARE

Proper aftercare is essential for the healing of your piercing.

For all piercings, aim to clean your piercing 3 to 5 times a day. I recommend the following schedule: morning, afternoon, and evening.

You will need:

  • Antimicrobial soap

  • Q-tips

  • Warm water

Steps:

  1. Wet a Q-tip with warm water.

  2. Apply a pea-sized amount of antimicrobial soap to the Q-tip.

  3. Gently swab around the front and back of your piercing(s).

  4. Wet a second Q-tip with water and use it to remove any soap residue from the piercing.

  5. Repeat this process throughout your healing period.

Healing Tip: Ideally, clean your piercing 3 to 5 times a day for the entire healing period. If you can't manage that every day, try to do so as much as possible.

Disclaimer: If you've been using a different cleaner that works for you, feel free to continue using it. However, I still recommend cleaning 3 to 5 times a day and thoroughly rinsing off any solution used.

TATTOO AFTERCARE

Step 1: Cleanse with Mad Rabbit Tattoo Foam Soap

After getting your tattoo, the first thing you’ll want to do is keep it clean. You may be tempted to touch it or show it off, but make sure your hands are clean first. Trust me, keeping your tattoo free from bacteria is a game-changer for healing.

Why this matters: When you get a tattoo, the skin is essentially wounded, so cleanliness is key to preventing infections. The Mad Rabbit Tattoo Foam Soap is perfect for this because it’s gentle yet effective at removing the ink, plasma, and any germs without irritating your fresh tattoo.

Here’s what you do:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.

  • Wet the tattoo with lukewarm water, then dispense a small amount of the foam soap onto your tattooed skin.

  • Gently lather and cleanse the area to remove excess ink and blood. Rinse off thoroughly and pat dry with a clean, soft towel. Pro tip: Don’t rub it—just gently blot!

Cleansing helps keep the area free from contaminants and is the first step in preventing infection.

Step 2: Apply Mad Rabbit Tattoo Soothing Gel

After cleansing, you’re likely to feel some irritation or discomfort. The skin is going through a healing process, and it’s normal for it to feel inflamed or tender. This is where the Mad Rabbit Tattoo Soothing Gel comes in. It's cooling, calming, and works wonders to reduce redness and swelling.

Why this matters: Aloe vera and green tea extract are in this gel for their anti-inflammatory properties, which can really help the tattoo feel less irritated, especially in the first few days.

Here’s what you do:

  • After cleaning, apply a thin layer of soothing gel to the tattooed area. You only need a little bit—just enough to cover the skin gently.

  • Use this gel 2-3 times a day or whenever you feel discomfort or swelling.

  • Let it absorb naturally into your skin without rubbing it in too much.

This soothing gel really helps ease any discomfort and makes the whole process a lot smoother, pun intended!

Step 3: Moisturize with Mad Rabbit Tattoo Balm

Once the soothing gel has had a chance to settle into your skin, it’s time to lock in some moisture and prevent your tattoo from drying out or cracking. Mad Rabbit Tattoo Balm is exactly what your tattoo needs. It's rich, nourishing, and perfect for that long-term healing support.

Why this matters: The balm uses natural oils like shea butter, beeswax, and sunflower oil to moisturize deeply. These ingredients not only help the skin heal but also keep your tattoo looking sharp and vibrant.

Here’s what you do:

  • Once your tattoo is dry from the soap and soothing gel, apply a thin layer of the tattoo balm.

  • Rub it in gently—don’t over-apply! A little goes a long way.

  • You should continue to apply this balm 2-3 times a day, or as needed, for the duration of the healing process.

The balm helps prevent excessive scabbing and provides that extra hydration your skin needs to heal. I like to use it right after my soothing gel to keep everything balanced.
